The new apartment

So, it´s time for a new blog and of course it will be about the new apartment, our own new apartment. The rain is pouring down outside so it´s a perfect day to update the blog. It has been our new home for a month now and we finaly feel we have settled in. We have some before photos that we took when everything was a mess and also how it looks now. This first photo is when Jim sets up his computer, his precious computer.
As you can see we put all the boxes in one place and just took it from there, unpacked one box at the time. Mom and dads sofas are still with us, still going strong.

We thought that the kitchen needed a good size pantry, so Jim put shelves in what from the beginning was a cleaning cabinet. Instead we have put the vacum cleaner and the other things in one closet in the bedroom, giving us a lot more space for food and kitchen appliencies.

The boxes are getting fewer and fewer...

Jim also put shelves in the bedroom closets.

So, this is what the apartment looks like now, when everything is unpacked and more or less in order. We have decided to keep all our furnitures that we had from our old apartments, just to first get a feeling of how expensive it will be to live with having to pay interest rates and paying off the loan. We have also kept the colour on the walls, white works with everything and looks good.

I really like the feature wall in the bedroom. It might be difficult to see on the photo, but it´s pale grey and silver lines.

You always know where to find Jim. In front of his computer of course!

Yesterday we got this mirror for the entrance. I think it looks good with the black against the white, and because we have a lot of light colours it adds a little extra to the room with a strong "colour".

This is the pantry filled up. At the top you can see a red box. That´s swedish whisky (Mackmyra) that Jim bought and he says it´s nice, that it´s got something, haha. We´ll save some for next summer so you can have a taste.

That´s all the photos we have for now of the apartment. I´ll have to start thinking about the next blog subject, hmm...
Take care.

Another great blog thank you Elin. It really keeps us in touch. Everything looks great and as if it was all meant to fit. The new apartment is a credit to you both and you deserve to enjoy it.
Thinking of you both, love Dijon

Thanks for the update Elin! I've been checking every day :)
The apartment looks fantastic. Like an Ikea ad. Even the moving boxes come from Ikea, did you have to self assemble them? :P I love the kitchen and the feature wall in the bedroom. In the photos that wall looks 3 dimensional, like overlaid planks of wood and metal.
